Pretty finds

I had a good haul at my favourite Charity shop last week - fun accessories and pretty tableware.

These lovely plates by Paragon, such an usual shape, and hand-decorated.
Sweet little partridge on this Staffordshire saucer, with a nice relief detail.
Embellishment for hair and brooches.
All nicely set off by hand-embroidered napkins I found in Lille.

Pretty in pink .....

Those of a certain age will remember the song by The Psychedelic Furs. Here are some pretty pink things for a cold day.

This sweet saucer with rose posies was a recent charity shop find, and the candlestick is one of Sean's creations. The candle is rose scented - smells divine.

Riitta won my Levi Roots Giveaway, and sent me this gorgeous bag she made! I love it and will use it for special occasions. Check out her beautiful and colourful blog at and it will bring a smile to your face!

Women's World Day of Prayer

The first Friday in March is always Women's World Day of Prayer, and local churches take turns to host the service. This year it was prepared by the Christian women of France. I always take our school choir to lead the singing and be readers; the girls and I love it, and we enjoy meeting the other ladies over tea and cake afterwards. We were at the Mission Church and St Mary's in Kennington, very close to School, with an inspiring sermon from a very charismatic Baptist Minister, Lola.

Next year, it will be Egypt.

My 'Chocolate' Giveaway ends on Monday - comment on the previous post to enter . . .
